Artist's Statement:

My paintings, at once figurative and abstract, deal with the natural world, the skies, trees and ocean, and the submerged world underneath.  Forms both geometric and organic intermingle, inform and interact with each other.  The imagination made manifest, feelings and moods made manifest, and color that resembles sound. Forms flow, a geometry of feelings unfold and flower.

In my paintings, I deal with movement and memory, memory that is evolutionary, painstaking, and doesn’t fade, memory that gropes to each brush stroke, each line connecting the past with the present and the future. Memory is a viable force in my work, as without it, one can never connect the dots, understand time, nor sequence, nor the line.
I was also greatly influenced by the cathedrals I visited in Europe in my teens and early twenties, especially in France:  walking inside them and being moved by the beauty of the stained glass, to see the light and life flowing through. A sacred place in which one walks through, meditates, prays, and is transformed.
 
Flowing, merging and emerging from the life beneath to the life that we see. Colors envelope each other, transform each other into something new, different, into something tangible, felt and heard: an orchestration of colors.
