Writing Workshop 1, Nov 21. VOICE: As we enter the fall of 2020, often our voices have been drowned out, edited either by ourselves or others. Or our voices may have been lost amidst the noise of the media and society. In dealing with the craft of poetry, let us look at how we can reclaim and find our voices again, and construct and hone our craft through the lens of pathos. Considering this, what specific strategies within the realms of pathos can we use to implement and heighten this for our own poems to create impactful noteworthy poems? Writing Workshop 2, Nov 22. GROUNDING: What specific strategies can we use to ground the poem, and ground ourselves in the process? How can the soul of a place matter in our works and have the power to ground us, whether the city or the countryside, beach or farm? How can we use our dream lives and intuition to ground ourselves and our writing? These events are supported in part by Poets & Writers, thanks to a grant from the Hearst Foundations.
